Abstract

An 82 year-old woman was received in hospital complaining about an increased abdominal volume, dyspneia, and syncopes. Examination signs evidenced the hypothesis of malign tumor, and surgical treatment was recommended. Anatomopatology evidenced an ovary tumor with 3372,0 g. Histological diagnosis was of mesenquimal tumor of cellular fibroma type. Such benign tumor can evolve with ascites and pleural effusion (Meigs’ Syndrome) and even simulate malign tumor. Therefore, the appropriate diagnosis is made essential, since the surgical treatment may be healing.
