Sporotrichosis is a fungal disease, with an increase in cases in Brazil, due to the zoonotic transmission of the species Sporothrix brasiliensis, being a serious national public health problem, with cats being the main transmitter and victim of this agent. Rio Grande do Sul (RS) faces a hyperendemic disease, mainly in two municipalities (Rio Grande and Pelotas). It is hypothesized that the disease is underreported in other regions of RS. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the perception of human health professionals and other animals regarding sporotrichosis in the municipalities of Bagé and Uruguaiana, RS, Brazil. Therefore, it can be inferred, through the results, that there are cases of human and feline sporotrichosis in the evaluated regions, contributing to highlight this important public health problem in RS and reaffirming the importance of continuing to act in the continued training on the sporotrichosis.
