At present, ways of life mediated by social media and digital technologies are evident, although they are not as clear as the ways in which the circumstances that made these ways possible. Following this logic, there is an excess of information and, according to some authors, a lack of experience. This text aims to present a discussion about education as an experience in relation to the observed changes from the subjective possibilities that arise in the context marked by immaterial reality. To do so, it starts with the notion of experience discussed by Larrosa (2002) in dialogue with authors who reflect the productions and generated effects as a result of the digital context to discuss the role of institutions such as the school in the face of the observed changes. From the discussion, it is considered that the observed changes seem to require the expansion of the notion of experience, as well as establishing new knowledge to be developed by the actors involved.
